Abstract

A new four-parameter lifetime distribution is proposed. The properties of the proposed distribution are discussed, including formulae for the failure rate function, moments, and modal value. The parameter estimation is based on the usual maximum likelihood approach. The flexibility of the new model is illustrated by applications to real data sets.
